Monday

I got a drafting table. I'm going to try to do as much of the next couple of weeks as I can in for realz drawings. luckily kenneth has a scanner!
Also: I would love to tell stories, but I feel like I have no stories to tell. anything I make up seems almost too embarrassing to share. also there's that drawing a blank thing. Any advice? anyone?

  1. Maybe if it seems to obvious it is actually really good and clear? Try a few and you will get better I am sure :)

  2. A friend of mine once said that he believes everyone has thousands of good stories to tell, they just need an audience.

Just write, that's what I do. I don't always believe it's good, but I put it up there and the three or four readers never have a bad word to say, so just throw it out there. Isn't that what you're doing anyway?

  3. I agree with Lee. Just do it! =D (That was supposed to sound encouraging, not like an order. I find it so hard to communicate proper feeling through internet typage)

One thing I always felt I was going to do to start off a comic was make one out of an old story, like Peter and The Wolf for example, and just have that as my practice. To see how my sequential art skills were, I suppose... I never got around to it for I am a major procrastinator.

  5. hmmm.
this is helpful guys, but I'm not sure if it's enough. I'm just not a storyteller so far as I can tell... I tend to flit from one "what if...?!" idea to the next and never flesh any of them out.
although the reason for making this blog was to get rid of some of my procrastination. and so that I'd stop apologizing for not having done any art, which is quite a useless thing to do. so if I'm already doing that, why shouldn't I be pushing some of those ideas out in to the open, right?
    right...
    still.

  6. Why not do the 24 hour comic challenge? I'm going to see if I can find any info on the rules online somewhere. Maybe we could both do it? Mayhaps?
Would it help to get the ball rolling if you knew someone else (someoneS? maybe?? Kim??) was doing it with you?
