here is some stuff I doodled.

today was my birthday! it went pretty well, I did a few things I like doing and overall it was pretty quiet. I'll get some more presents when I fly home on sunday, yay!

I might do a drawing or two over the weekend since I am going to be leaving my tablet behind, so I may post a few times over the next few weeks. however, I'll be taking my official break on this blog after tonight!

hopefully I can come up with a few plans over christmas for how I'd like to proceed.

I'm gonna venture a guess and say that nobody decided to try out Tegaki E based on my last post. ah well, it's not for everyone. while I'm working on my laptop which has linux on it, I find it easier to use the browser based flash app than actually trying to figure out The Gimp. I guess I'm lazy or something. :(

anyway, I am studying for my HAM license exam that's on saturday morning! wish me luck!

I drew this using a website called Tegaki E. it's like a forum but each thread begins with a drawing and all replies are also in the form of drawings. I think it's a neat thing. I mean, the site is filled with teenagers, but whatever. I still think it is fun. the drawing tools are kind of challenging though.

hey who remembers the stairs in the hostel/inn in Amsterdam? like holy moley. we have it easy here in the Americas. I swear we climbed up there like 200 times during our stay.

some days I get so frustrated with myself because I am just totally useless. arrrrggg.

anyway this is a face. :/I wanted to draw how the mouth and eyes and nose all curve around the front of the face and it's not flat, because that's important sometimes.

also: that railroad guy is wearing a suit and tie. INSIDE his work uniform. people used to be so much classier. back in the day.

during weeks like these I wonder if I'm actually just going backwards. I don't know. I'm probably just frustrated because I'm not real inspired or happy with what I'm whipping off in these daily drawings, but it just seems like the more I do the less impressive they get. I might need some kind of change. maybe with the pace or the objective or something else.

hmm.

I've also had a lot less time in the last couple of weeks and a lot on my mind in the last 12 months, so maybe I'm being too hard on myself. hmmmmmm.

I havent been thinking much about artmaking the last couple of weeks. I think it's mostly from trying to adjust to working again. it'll come back, I think. doing daily drawings helps. the shame of putting so little effort into a drawing one day pushes me to do a better one the following day. or the shame of several days built up. ahem. my art peeps may or may not know what I'm talking about.

aaaah, I love costumes! yeah! there were so many cool ones. Bob from Reboot, a girl as a Darlek, a bunch of star trek crew, some Dharma initiative zombies (I think? I am not totally familiar with the show). my friend andrew was iron man the alcoholic. kenneth was a pirate of the itnernet. oh it was good times. I was pretty smiley.

I wonder if we will get kids in costume tomorrow night at our apartment!
